Unable to successfully save an Workflow

I have built an custom workflow and when I try to save the WF I get to see errors related to the Messages as shown below

328: 'SAVE' validation failed for message APPRCUST/CUST_APPROVER_FOUND'.
401: Could not find token 'CUSTOMER_NUMBER' among message attributes
401: Could not find token 'CUSTOMER_NAME' among message attributes 

Ensured the attributes are created and subsequent to that created the message which referred to these attributes. Inspite the attributes presenece the message keeping poping the error whenever the WF is saved to file / DB. Can anyone sahre if there is anything been missed out, thks in advance.
