need advice on http server for email images

 I need to setup an http server to serve images for out going email.  I am thinking of using the apache that is installed with Solaris.  I have never setup apache so this is my first try.  Does this sound like a good fit for apache?  I am guessing there will be only a few small files.  I the idea is to the reduce the size of the email as well as the size of the archive needed to store them.

Here are the details of the Solaris level and hardware (LDom)
