Directory Server - Adding syntax definitions to DSEE v7.0

Is there a way to add a syntax definition to the directory server? I am trying to load a few schema files, but they contain attributes with syntaxes not found in the directory, i.e.:

AttributeTypes: ( 1.3.6.1.4.1.10098.1.1.12.24
 NAME 'gosaApplicationIcon'
 DESC 'Keeps the application icon in png format'
  SYNTAX 1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.28
 )

Where the syntax is ( 1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.28 DESC 'JPEG' ), and it does not exist in DSEE v7.0.
