Setting aggregated interface to jumbo frames with an mtu of 9000

I have a T3-1B with 2 dual 10gig pci modules installed. I have aggregated across the modules for redundancy. I want to set one aggregate at the default 1500 and the other one at 9000. I have tried various settings in the aggr.conf file. and hostname.aggrx file.  The latest patch set and kernel have been applied. I can set the mtu, but the connection is exceedingly slow with packet errors on one of the aggregated interfaces. The aggregates work fine at the default setting.
From dladm show-aggr:
key: 2 (0x0002) policy: L2,L3   address: 0:1b:d5:8b:03:d (auto)
device       address                 speed           duplex  link    state

Howdy, Stranger!
