PeopleSoft 9.1 Portal Pagelets & Dashboards

Has anyone configured custom portal Pagelets by module? Since the new 9.1 application look and feel leave a lot of white space , we are under pressure to fill it with meaningful information - navigation pagelets, dashboards , query and report previews.

We have also seen the preview of Collaborative Workspaces, but my understanding they will be delivered in the next version.

Has anyone gone through this exercise already?
