Register and De-register nodes with OID Farm

I am working with 10.1.2 Identity Management and trying to understand how to get the pieces working together.  I have OID/SSO/DAS installed as an LDAP one-way replication setup.  I also have middle tier nodes with OAS and various pieces.  How do I deregister an old node from the farm and OID?  How do I register another node without reinstalling everything?  I'm also trying to understand how to load balance sso traffic.  Since I installed with replication instead of a cluster, I'm not sure how this is going to work.  Thanks!
