Dell Precision M6600 with Intel 82579LM Gigabit

Dell claims that the adapter used in this product is the Intel 82579LM Gigabit but I have to get it to attach but have not been suscessfull.  From what I can tell this shoudl be the e1000g driver.  I have even tried loading Soalris 10 (8/11) as I had seen posts that an updated driver for this was in that build.  I need help geting this working on Soalris 10 (9/10).  Is there a way to verify the card and driver? Any help would be appreciated. I have 4 of these that I need to get working.  I can't move to solaris 11 yet, as the software I need to oadhas not been valdated or tested with it.
