what is the use of SYSTEM_OPTIONS.DISTRIBUTION_RULE indicator?

Hi All,


SYSTEM_OPTIONS.DISTRIBUTION_RULE
This option indicates which distribution rule to use when the actual quantity to be
distributed among virtual warehouses is different from the expected quantity.
The valid values are determined by code_type 'DRUL'.
Values are: Proration, Minimum to maximum and Maximum to minimum.

I am Not understand this can any one explain with an example.

we are not using allocation module.
