WF_Notifications are in MAIL status after numerous WF Mailer bounces.

 Hi All, We are facing a peculiar issue with the workflow email notifications. we have seeing huge number of wf notifications are in MAIL status and OPEN. WF Mailer is up and running normal.
we dont see the emails are sent out from the system. 
Kindly help us to the right direction.
