OIM LDAP Sync customization?

 Is there some way to customize OIM 11g LDAP Sync functionality? Our customer would like to add some rules and logic, when they sync users/attributes/roles from OIM to LDAP (not using any LDAP Sync Recon or Post Enable jobs). So far I have been able to customize metadata and add some attributes to user profile and sync that info into LDAP vial LDAP Sync, but adding rules and logic seems to be very difficult.
