Is Enterprise Single Sign-On a Windows Only solution?

Hi everyone,
Is ESSO available to Windows clients only? 
How will Mac or Linux user login to ESSO to get SSO functionality? Or are there workarounds for this, so that Linux and Mac users can get somewhat the same experience?

I have not tried this solution, and our clients use a mix of Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs, so I am wondering if you could provide me with so heads-up on this, before I try it out?
