Budget Check Process - slow

hi - we are on PS Finance 9.0 and use commitment control. Our AP person kicks off the budget check job when she leaves in the evening. Lately the job has been taking more and more time - 11 hours last night to check 158 vouchers. Does anyone have any ideas or tips on improving our budget checking timelines? I checked for locked vouchers - there are none.
