How to Avoid old data entered into Oracle

Hi All

We have been using Oracle for the last 8-10 month but could not used the system properly.There is a huge mismatch between legacy data and Oracle. Now We want to use the system from new financial year .Please guide me how to start using the system so that the impact of old data would not come.Or advice me the approach to be considered before entering data into new financial year.

Before 01- Apr -2012  the Data is entered  in legacy system paralelly. SO Financial reporting will be handeled from the legacy System.

After 01-APR-2012  We want to enter fresh entries in Oracle and financial reportin will be taken care by oracle.
