Journal locked after GL_JEDIT runs to success

The user loaded journals into PS and run GL_JEDIT process. The process shows to have run to success in Process Monitor but the Journals continued to remain locked.

We unlocked the process instance and run journal edit again, and this time it went to success and Journal Status was updated to 'V'(alid)

What could be the reason for the journals to remain locked when GL_JEDIT was run the first time?
