Collectors in Receivables

Hello:

In the R12 implementation manual it looks like you are not using Advanced Collections you can simply set-up your collectors as collectors in receivables and do not need to go through resource manager.  Is this a true statement?  When we upgrade to R12, the collectors do not have access to the collection forms.  Do we need to do the set-up under resource manager even without Advanced Collections?
