dsee vlv index searches

  In our environment, due to the large number of entries, something like objectClass=top search will be unindexed. 

Searches will curse through the whole database for entries.


Does it make sense to create a specific VLV index with that same objectClass=top filter, would that improve performance?


What if the database only contains ou=People entries (no other data, so will the database scan be faster vs VLV index search)

What if the database has 50% other non-People data?
