Not able to calculate TDS on VAT tax line

Hi,

I have a invoice interfaced from  third party tool which has 2 item lines and 1 Tax line (VAT).I attached TDS tax code to all the 3 lines and did validation.

TDS got calculated on both the item lines but VAT line remained un affected and there was TDS for this line.

Iam not sure if iam following the correct procedure to calculate TDS on VAT line.

Version is 12.1.1

Please advice.
