Using variables in an email definition

I am using Oracle Identity Manager 11.1.1.5.2 and trying to define the body of an Email Definition to use variables so that the specific user name and the pending password expiration date can be part of the email message.  I have put the following in the body:

Warning!   The password for your account named:  <Users.User ID>    will expire on
<Users.Password Expiration Date>.

However, he resulting notification sends: "Warning!   The password for your account  named:      will expire on . "

What do have wrong here?

Or can someone direct me to where I can find some examples of using variables in the email definitions?

Howdy, Stranger!
