What is the basis for the four level nesting limit for PSJOBs?

How many nested levels are supported for a PS job, such that sub-processes can resume when a job on put hold and taken off hold?  We heard that four levels nesting is supported but we would like to know if this is documented somewhere or written up in some incident.
