Oracle Virtual Directory Filter Mapping Question

Hello everyone,

I'm struggling with what I suspect is an easy task.  I've created the simplest of OVD adapters.  I set the adapter to point to a backend iPlanet LDAP server, and I need to translate incoming filters to map to the correct iPlanet namespace.

Let's call the adapter's base DN (root namespace)  "dc=ovd, dc=com", and the iPlanet base DN "dc=iPlanet, dc=com".   The client and adapter views in the data browser are populated as expected, and the product that is using iPlanet is able to establish a connection via the adapter.

But, and here’s the problem:
