Authentication Using Oracle Identity Manager

Hi,

I would like to understand if there is any documentation which explains the Authentication Mechanism in Oracle Identity Manager. For Eg. If a new user logs into the fusion application, how he gets authenticated against his user id in the application. If there is any flow digram which explains this will be very helpful.
