"Signal: (6) SIGABRT - Abort" in Application Engine execution

We are on Peopletools 8.50. We are having a intermittent issue with Application Engine "RB_MAIL_READ". Issue is as below :
- Most of the times Applicaiton Engine"RB_MAIL_READ" runs successfully with distribution stauts "Posted" and dependent Applicaiton Engine "PRCEMAIL" runs with "Success Status".
- Some times Applicaiton Engine"RB_MAIL_READ" runs successfully with distribution stauts "N/A" and dependent Applicaiton Engine "PRCEMAIL" runs with "Success Status" but we get "RB_MAIL_READ" stuck in the process scheduler. So we will have to manually killl stuck process to resolve the issue.
- Some times Applicaiton Engine"RB_MAIL_READ" runs successfully with distribution stauts "Posted" and dependent Applicaiton Engine "PRCEMAIL" does not get invoked.
