Trying to understand virtual networking in Solaris 11

I have been reading a bit on Solaris 11.1 and the improved networking with an eye towards virtual networking. While the process seems fairly straightforward, what I'm having trouble grasping is the benefit to implementing a private virtual network. It occurs to me that maybe my situation isn't really suited for this level of network configuration. Wondered if someone can address where this might benefit my situation in particular.
All of my servers have a pretty basic setup of one global zone with one or two local zones. I typically have two quad cards with one connection each going to two separate switches. I have been simply configuring the two interfaces for ipmp and then using the same ipmp interface for all my zones.

Howdy, Stranger!
