Integrating OIF with OIM

Hey guys,
I was asked a question today about the possibility of integrating OIF and OIM. To my limited knowledge I don't think that is possible, but I wanted to confirm from you guys whether there is a way to integrate OIF with OIM rather than OID.

Any feedback is much appreciated.
