Attachment server configuration - database or file server

Hi,

I Would like to know if there are any significant pros/cons with configuring the attachment server, to stores attachments either in file server or storing the attachments within the database

we are analizing which will be good for maintanance, I think in file server maintanance will easy and cost effective then the database. also need to check in case if we store in database and the database file system will grow and performance of the database will need to be reviewd.

our database is oracle

tools 8.51

web/appl server : aix 6.1
