request a process via a custom application engine using application package PROCESSREQUEST

A requirement is to create a custom application engine and use it to request a process to run in the Process Scheduler.  Third party scheduler, BMC Control-M executes the application engine.  The application engine selects parameters from a custom run control page to request which process to run.  Has anyone ever requested a process to run this way?
