Crystal Report display Chinese Words as square boxes

Hi,
We have a Crystal Report which contains a Chinese Name field. We set this field to a Chinese font (e.g. mingliu.ttc). This report, generated by process scheduler, normally displayed the Chinese Name correctly in pdf format. However, for some Chinese Words it showed a square box instead.
If we run the report from Crystal Reports (directly), this report still show the correct Chinese word. But if we export the output from Crystal Reports to pdf, it would show the square box.
Does anyone have ideas to fix this issue?
We are running PT8.48, Crystal Reports 9 on Windows Server 2003.
