user synch issues

We have OID 10g which integrates with AD for external user auth. We frequently come actoss issues where the userid in OID is not in synch with AD. We dont see any entry for these userid in the oidnew.aud and oidnew.trc files. How should we go about troubleshooting these issues, which are the other ldap log files etc that I can refer to?
