Notifications sent with Closed Status

Hi All,

We have customized APINV workflow and using wf_notifications.send API to send the notifications. Due Date is populated as null while calling the API. We have noticed that the Workflow is sending notifications with Status = Closed and also, the End_date in wf_notifications table is automatically populated to begin_date + 1 after one day.

Could someone please help us understand how the end date is populated and in what case the notifications are sent with Closed staus? Any pointers would be much appreciated.
