Back end swap of a domain controller

Hypothetical question:

 

Let's say I have a W2003 domain controller and OIM has been provisioning users into it, and then I decide to rip out the W2003 domain controller and shove in a W2008 or W2012 domain controller.

 

Assuming I have only provisioned users into the Users container, that the domain is identical including IP address, server name, passwords, everything.  If I connect OIM to it, is there something I can do to push all of those users back into the (now empty) Users container?  Will OIM do it automatically?
