Can WS-Security Be Implemented with REST based web services?

We are in the early stages of starting to use REST based web services.  Our security standard for SOAP web services involves using WS-Security.  


Is there anything special to consider for REST based web services?  That is, can these types of web services also be secured with WS-Security in a PeopleSoft system?
