Securing External Access

I am working on a project to extend HCM self service access (especially open enrollment) outside of the firewall.  I'm interested in hearing from other companies that are currently doing this.  

Here are a couple of questions:

1.  We need to restrict access when a user signs in using their own equipment.  We had a demo of GreyHeller (aka GreySparling), but we're interested in other options that are not PeopleSoft specific.  Did your company have this security requirement?  If so, how was it addressed?

2.  Are you using forgotten password processing externally?  If so, what types of changes (if any) were made to accomodate external access?
