Considerations for a Staggared Upgrade of HCM and FSCM from 8.9/8.52 to 9.2/8.53

We are considering a staggared upgrade to 9.2 from 8.9 and would appreciate any thoughts on functionality that needs to be addressed while our HCM and FSCM exist at different version levels.  We're aware of the Integration Broker issues and plan on using transforms to reconcile differing message structures while HCM is at 9.2 and FSCM is at 8.9.  Additionally, we completed a Peopletools ONLY upgrade last fall bringing both FSCM and HCM to Peopletools 8.52.  So, we will have FSCM at Peopletools 8.52 while HCM will be at 8.53.  Thanks in advance for any and all ideas.
