PT 8.52, IE8 and SetCursorPos

We have issues with SetCursorPos and Error Messages in 8.52, (bundle #9), v9.1 CG (Candidate Gateway)

Issue is most CG pages have Save/Submit button at the top and bottom. If user uses Save/Submit at the top of the page, the browser moves the cursor to the field, however, the error message remains at the top and user cannot see the error message. Entire page is greyed out. Refer to the attached document.

KM document https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocContentDisplay?id=1335177.1discusses similar issue with older firefox browsers. Is there such a workaround for IE8 and Tools 8.52?
