Information about Java 6 and Java 7

Hi,


We've recently been getting many inquiries from our customers regarding use of Java 6 and Java 7 in PeopleSoft environments.  Also, there are some concerns about the recent end-of-life announcement for Java SE 6.   Below is some additional information that you may find helpful:

Regarding PeopleTools Releases and Supported Java Versions:
---------------------------------------------------------------
-For PeopleTools 8.50, 8.51 and 8.52, we require that you use Java 6. You cannot upgrade to Java 7 as it is not certified for the PeopleTools 8.50/8.51/8.52 releases.
-For PeopleTools 8.53, Java 7 is certified

The above certification information is available from the "Certifications" tab within "My Oracle Support (MOS)"
