Why does RMS has concept of Virtual warehouse

Hi All,

I wanted to understand the reason of using virtual wareshouse with in a single physical warehouse location. I know the difference between the 2 warehouse & its link to Multi-Channel indicator,  but I want to understand the why did RMS opt for these 2 levels in warehouse & not store inventory at warehouse level.
