How to stop a scheduled task in OIM 11g?

Hi all,
I don't have experience with OIM, but I am envolved in a project that uses OIM 11g and the customer is having a problem. He is not able to stop a scheduled task. He is using the stop() method, but it is not enough. Are there other things to be done beyond to implement this method? Could someone help me please?
