how to truncate descr254 field when it exceeds 254 char automatically.

In 9.0 FSCM 8.48 PT if user inputs line descr longer than 254 in DESCR254 field , it would provide warning message, and Psoft would AUTOMATICALLY truncate the description for the user and allow user to save the transaction. in 9.1 FSCM 8.52 PT psoft doesn't  truncate. it only provides a error message and user has to manually delete the lines.

Is there a way to change that so that Psoft automatically truncate the DESCR254 field.
