Has PSOPRDEFN field ever had a Password Length Limitation

We have several different releases of PeopleTools in our environment (the oldest one is 8.46), and I'm trying to find out if there has ever been a maximum character limitation on Password Length in the PSOPRDEFN table. Example, the password can't be any greater than 7 characters.

The tools versions we use are:
