Steps for creating a copy of production for doing test moves for upgrade

Hi,

We are planning to perform a peoplesoft upgrade from HCM9.0/PT8.48 to HCM9.2/PT8.53. For each test moves, when I have to create new copy of production databases, what steps should I take for those ? I am thinking it will be more like doing peoplesoft database cloning and then doing peopleoft database refresh steps, for example -

1. Create a new copy of production database with new name and lay it over with a production backup data.
2. Updating new database values in PS.PSDBOWNER, PSSTATUS and PSOPTIONS tables
3. Updating access id password in the new copy of prod database
4. Running grant.sql
