Information about PeopleTools 8.49

All of my PeopleSoft boxes are getting flagged by the corporate security guys because of the old java versions installed on the servers.  I can't find any information about what version of java is supported by each PeopleTools release.  And frankly I'm not really sure what version of java is being used by the application server and process scheduler.  Can I assume that the java version being used by the app/batch servers is the one found in %PS_HOME%/jre/bin?  Which in my case is:

\ptools\jre\bin>java -version
java version "1.5.0_11"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_11-b03)

Howdy, Stranger!
