How to protect Web Service Hosted on Weblogic using OAM 11GR2

 Hi 
We have a requirement to protect web service hosted on weblogic using Oracle Access Manager.We don't have tools like OWSM. Can we use Identity Asserter to authenticate & authorize web service. If possible then how it is different from OWSM and STS.
