Preferred mode for nVision

We are ugrading from Tools 8.51 to 8.53 .  The recommendation from Oracle was to install nVision on Windows Process Scheduler in automation mode for 8.51.  Is this still the preference in 8.53?  Are there any compelling reasons to switch to OpenXML mode if we have been using the automation mode successfully for years?
