HCM 9 to 9.2 upgrade - Using Demo Image as New Release Demo for multi lingual customer

We are currently running HCM 9.0 on PT 8.49 toolset on a Unicode enabled Oracle database. We are planning to upgrade to HCM 9.2 on PT 8.53. Can we use the latest HCM demo or peoplesoft image as a new Release Demo/source  database as part of the upgrade? Please clarify as we are a multi-lingual customer so have different languages/translations installed. Or do we have to install the New Release demo database manually and then bring it current using PUM to the latest release level before we start the upgrade? We did notice that demo or peoplesoft image does not allow
