URG: How to retry the active workflow activities which are not completed

 Hi ,
Due to some unknonwn issues, we have seen many workflows of same item type are stuck in Active and all these workflows are stuck at the same activity in Active status.
If we retry this activity, it completes and therefore the workflow also completes. 

Can anyone please suggest if there is any script/ way to retry all the workflow activities which are stuck in Active status for this item type.
