HCM 9.0 to 9.2 Upgrade - Intial Pass & Ongoing Development

We are in the planning stages of HCM 9 to 9.2 upgrade project. We are also in the middle of multi-year global rollout of PeopleSoft in HCM 9 instance that involves ongoing customisations to our existing HCM 9.0 system.

Our question is how does PeopleSoft upgrade process preserve ongoing customisations after initial pass and incorporate into the next move to production passes. We are trying to figure out how to carry forward the customisations after the initial pass into the new HCM 9.2 upgraded database. Let us know how other customers are handling ongoing changes during a upgrade process and what the best practices are with respect to development freeze and upgrade passes.
