Ethernet jumbo frames and L3 MTU
Hi All
I get an impression from the article at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19862-01/820-1606-12/jumbo_fms.html that, on Solaris, one can enable jumbo frames on L2 (for the driver) but leave the interface MTU to the standard 1500.
If this works at all, that'd mean that the system can actually process jumbo frames and but outgoing packets will not exeed the size of 1500.
Can anybody confirm or deny this scenario?
Regards,
-Jie
