unsent workflow email

We are using EBS version 12.1.3

I am in the OAM application dashboard. In the performance page, I saw that the unsent workflow email shows 231. What might cause this to happen? Since there is no hyper-link to the number, I can't click and check which ones are unsent. How and where can I find info about these? Will this number cause any problems if it gets higher and higher? Please advise. Thank you very much.
