FSCM 9.1/8.53 upgrade

Hello experts,

 We are beginning a Peoplesoft FSCM 8.8/8.52 to FSCM9.1FP2/8.53 upgrade.  

I am wondering if I already started it on the wrong step.  I upgraded the delivered 9.1/8.52 demo environment to PT 8.53. 

The upgrade instructions I see out there are for a 9.1/8.52 upgrade.  Can I continue like this or do I need to reinstall the delivered 9.1/8.52 demo environment?

If I continue like this do I need to first upgrade our copy of production to tools version 8.53?
