R12 Upgrade-Oracle Workflow

Hi,
Could you please direct me to any documentation on best practices to be followed while upgrading workflow components from 11i to R12 ?

We have many seeded workflows customized in 11i environement.As part of upgrade do we need to redo the customizations from scratch on a fresh copy of workflow in R12 ?

In the upgraded instance,we see some customizations are already carried ahead from 11i environment.
